What is a Dental Appliance?

Brushing and flossing are sometimes enough to maintain good oral health. Dental appliances can help preserve and protect our oral structures, as well as the health of our entire bodies, for those of us who participate in sports, clench or grind our teeth, or snore.

Dental appliances offered at Aspen Springs Dental Centre – like mouth guards and sleep apnea devices – are used to help protect the health of your oral cavity.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances

Sleep disorders can disrupt your sleep and negatively impact your overall health.

For patients who snore, their relaxed throat tissues cause the airway to restrict, creating the sound of snoring as oxygen is forced past. For patients with sleep apnea, their throat tissues over-relax and obstruct the airway, forcing the brain to wake them up to breathe.

At Aspen Springs Dental Centre, we provide custom-fitted oral appliances to move the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway. This helps improve your flow of breath and prevents you from waking up throughout the night.

Custom-Fitted Mouth Guards

We offer custom-made mouth guards that fit over your teeth to protect them from damage during sleep or sports.

Sports Guards

If you get hit in the mouth during sports, a mouth guard provides a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue of your mouth to protect your smile.

Night Guards

A mouth guard will help protect your teeth if you grind your teeth while sleeping. If you clench your jaw, a mouth guard can help prevent you from clenching while also providing pain relief.
